Statuses for In-Person Worship

February 15, 2022

The Session approved a recommendation from the Pandemic Task Force (which includes health care professionals from the community) to establish standardized opening-up guidelines. We believe this approach allows us to be nimble as we adjust to changing statistics in either direction.

CPC will use the Maryland Department of Health’s official COVID resource (https://coronavirus.maryland.gov/) to evaluate risk based on positivity testing rate.

We will share our status on Thursday mornings (posted on our website and Facebook pages), indicating our plans for the following Sunday. Worship status will be designated as Red, Yellow, or Green:

RED = Online worship only

  • Measurement: Greater than 5% positivity testing rate.
  • Worship will be online and live-streamed via Zoom (audio only), CPC website, and social media.

YELLOW = In-person worship, masks required, restricted seating

  • Measurement: Between 3-5% positivity testing rate.
  • Every other pew blocked off for social distancing and limits set for attendance, if needed.
  • Masking required.
  • We request that all eligible attendees be vaccinated.
  • Worship will also be online and live-streamed via Zoom (audio only), CPC website, and social media.

GREEN = In-person worship, masks required, open seating

  • Measurement: Below 3% positivity testing.
  • Masking required.
  • We request that all eligible attendees be vaccinated.
  • Worship will also be online and live-streamed via Zoom (audio only), CPC website, and social media.

No food or drink will be allowed in the building for the time being.

Any groups or committees wishing to use indoor space will need to contact the Church Office. Just email Regine Bonhomme (rbonhomme@catonsvillepres.org) or phone the office. The attendance capacity in the fellowship hall is now 80, and the France Room and library are set for 20. (Masking required.)

We hope this makes it easier for you and your family to plan for worship, and we pray that we see you soon in person.
