This edition reflects on anti-racism during Advent, the importance of attention, how we envision hope together, and contemplative prayer during times of crisis.
Across our programming, our attention will be drawn to God’s vision of belonging and connection. Rediscovering that Christian vision of love, intentional living, and new ways of relating will span across the entire church. Children’s ministry, adult education, worship, stewardship, and committees will all find these themes emerging. This edition of the Messenger will help orient you to this fast-approaching fall season.
We’re turning inward to reflect on this summer’s adventures in God’s world, from Paris to Pride. This edition includes: a letter about changes to the Messenger, reflections on Catonsville Family Pride, a personal perspective on the Session retreat, a recap of the Grace A.M.E. outreach event, and so much more.
Will we join in the divine dance? Read about the Spirit’s work across borders, in the lives of young people, and within the complex experiences of our lives.
From Envision Grants to mental health, God is moving in our world and beckons us to flourish. This edition profiles the three Envision grants awarded this year, mental health awareness month, and a reflection on the recent interfaith Iftar dinner.
