Sign and Sacrifice

Our Thursday Morning Bible Study group, every Thursday from February 27 through April 9, will take up something new this Lent. Our text will be The Sign and The Sacrifice: The Meaning of the Cross and Resurrection (Westminster John Knox Press, 2016), by Rowan Williams, former Archbishop of Canterbury and one of the leading theologians of our day. We will be looking at key passages in scripture that bear witness to Jesus’ death and resurrection. We’ll explore what these events meant to Jesus’ followers in the early years and what they can say to us today. Join us for some serious theological engagement.
The books will be available for sale starting February 23. Cost $9. We begin the study on February 27, 2020, at 10:30 a.m., in the library. Led by Dr. Ken Kovacs.
