July Fundraiser for Women’s Hygiene and Health

For a second consecutive year, the Mission Committee will raise funds for women’s hygiene and health kits in conjunction with Church World Service (CWS).
It is estimated that two in five women and teens in the United States cannot afford essential hygiene products like tampons, wipes, and pads, which limits their participation in many daily activities (like attending school). Women’s hygiene is considered essential health care, and yet these products are often taxed and unsupported by most welfare agencies.
As a result, when female refugees and asylum seekers come to our borders, CWS and other humanitarian organizations step in to address these critical needs. CWS prepares and distributes these kits, but its supplies are extremely low.
CWS encouraged the Mission Committee to continue its efforts for women’s hygiene health. Last year, over $3,000 was raised. The Mission Committee recommends a donation of $20 per hygiene kit, but any amount—greater or lesser—will be graciously accepted! Contributions can be made by cash, check, online giving, or the QR code displayed at the display table. Members of the Mission Committee will be available in the France Room every Sunday in July after church to share information and accept contributions.
