Mission Committee’s Boxes for Seafarers

December 6, 2019

We will again this year be collecting Christmas gift boxes for seafarers visiting the Port of Baltimore. Most seamen will be away from their families during the holidays, so various churches and organizations try to provide each worker with a holiday gift as their ship arrives at a port.

The Mission Committee will provide a paperback New Testament, warm hat and socks, and pen and pencil for each box. For your box, please chose 8-10 of the following items:

  • Warm gloves
  • Hand warmers
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrush
  • Deodorant
  • Hand lotion
  • Shampoo
  • Shave cream
  • Razors
  • Nail clippers
  • Small notebook
  • Playing cards
  • Sudoku book
  • Postcards of Baltimore
  • Lip gloss (i.e., Blistex or Chapstik)
  • Warm neck scarf

Boxes will be wrapped on December 8

Please items place in a standard size shoebox. If you don’t one, the Mission Committee will have some available. Also remember to leave space for additional items that will be added to the boxes before wrapping.

Boxes will be wrapped after church on Sunday, December 8. We will have wrapping paper and tape, please bring scissors. Volunteers are need. Hope you can stay and help finish out this last step of the project.

Thank you for your help and spirit of giving during this holiday season!
