Grace AME Food Pantry

April 24, 2020

Non-Perishable Goods Needed

Grace AME in Catonsville has re-organized their food pantry to provide drive-thru food distribution for families on Tuesdays and Thursdays, serving 50 to 60 families a week. Grace AME is actively coordinating with other food pantries in the area and purchases low cost food from the Maryland Food Bank.  And yet there is a need for more canned goods.  Please consider adding some of these items to your shopping list and delivering them to the back of the Church House.

Step One:  Purchase two or more of any of the items listed below.

Step two:  Drop your food in a bin, at anytime, set up behind Catonsville Presbyterian Church House next to the garage. The bin will be emptied every evening and the food will be delivered to Grace AME.

Food List for Grace AME

Box of cold cereal
Pasta or noodles
Tomato sauce
Tuna fish or chicken
Canned beans
Canned food with pull tops for homeless

Give For Local Hunger Relief

CPC invites you to support local hunger relief to the growing number of families and individuals impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to the weekly updates about food items needed, please consider making a financial contribution. There are two options:

1) Give to CPC and mark “Local Food Pantry” or “Grace AME” (when giving online select “Grace AME” under Fund). This will then be included in the church’s report of charitable contributions. CPC will include your contribution with other mission giving to Grace AME.  (Other pantries may be added to future contributions based on their operations and need.)

2) Write a check directly to “Grace AME Church” and on the memo write “Missionary Outreach” and mail it to: Grace AME Church, 67 1/2 Winter’s Lane, Catonsville, MD  21228.

The CPC Mission Committee is trying to stay informed of changes in the local needs and welcomes your help. While some food pantries have closed, others have re-organized their services, and new ones have opened. For most of April, Grace AME is the only operating food pantry in Catonsville. CEA is expected to re-open at the end of April.
