Bystander Intervention Training
- Date: Sunday, November 3, 2019
- Time: 2:00pm–5:00pm
- Location: Fellowship Hall
On Sunday, November 3rd, community partners will offer a free Bystander Intervention Training at Catonsville Presbyterian Church in Catonsville, MD. This comprehensive training, facilitated by trainers from the Montgomery County Civil Rights Coalition, provides a grounding in the principles of nonviolence and de-escalation, followed by interactive scenarios to practice new skills.
Participants will learn how to manage group dynamics that can arise from bias-motivated harassment. They will also learn how to confidently and compassionately facilitate bystander skills. The interactive training will include role-playing training scripts and practice scenarios.
Light refreshments will be provided. Childcare is available upon request.
Open to ages 12+ though we request that youth attend with an adult. The training involves light to moderate physical movement, and interaction in small groups.
This training is free, but pre-registration is required as space is limited.
