A conversation on shame, vulnerability and courage through the work of Dr. Brené Brown, renowned researcher and the author of numerous books including Daring Greatly. During the class, Dr. Roy Howard will highlight the theological and biblical significance of vulnerability, shame and courage: how they frame a Christian stance in the world.
Roy has been a pastor, social worker, counselor and group facilitator. Most recently he served eighteen years as pastor of Saint Mark Presbyterian Church in North Bethesda. He is currently an adjunct faculty member of The Academy of Artful Leadership, trained coach with the International Coaching Federation, a certified facilitator for Healthy Congregations, and an Enneagram teacher.
Adult education is a time of learning and lively discussion, led by our pastoral staff, guest speakers, and members of the congregation. Join us as we explore a range of diverse topics and issues of the day from a theological perspective. Child care is provided.
